Biographical information

Joseph Richard Rudynski was born on March 10, 1906 in South Bend, Indiana. He worked for the Railway Mail Service as a postal clerk in Chicago, Illinois in the 1930s and 1940s.
Joseph and his wife, Clara, had two children: a boy, Joseph, and a daughter, Sylvia. He died on March 15, 1988 in Los Angeles, California.

Scope and Contents

This is the logbook of Railway Mail Service postal clerk Joseph R. Rudynski, while he worked in Chicago, Illinois in the 1930s and 1940s. Also called a trip report memoranda (form 5308), it includes information about the train number, arrival and department date, clerks on duty, type of rail car, and the amount of storage space used by the mail.
