Scope and Content of Collection

Statements of Liquor Sold by Pharmacists in No-License Territory consists of a single folder of sworn statements, notarized, and filed in the County Clerk’s Office, by pharmacists indicating the type and volume of liquor sold and received by pharmacists specifically in Escondido, Oceanside, and Ramona. The records consist of two separate preprinted forms, Statement of Receipt of Alcoholic Liquors and Statement of Liquors Sold or Dispensed. The former identifies information that includes the name of the person filing the statement, their workplace, city, county, and the date of the statement. This is followed by spaces for the accounting of inventory, including date received, quantity, kind (i.e., whiskey, brandy, etc.), from whom received, and from whom purchased. The form is then signed by the person making the statement and a notary public with a seal affixed. The latter includes similar information. The identifying information remains constant however, the accounting of inventory section is split into two, one indicating date, quantity, kind, to whom sold and the second, date, quantity, kind, to whom dispensed, and physician issuing prescription. The form is then signed by the person making the statement and a notary public with a seal affixed. Records are arranged by date for which statement was made, and alphabetically by city within.
