Biographical / Historical

Meyer Elkin (1916-1994) was an American social worker. He founded the Los Angeles County Conciliation Court, founded and edited the professional journal "Conciliation Courts Review," and helped found the Association of Family Conciliation Courts. Following his retirement in 1977, he was on the board, acted as president, and was an advisor for El Nido Family Centers in Los Angeles.

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of the papers of American social worker Meyer Elkin (1916-1994) related to his work with Los Angeles families. His papers include correspondences, annual reports, speeches, directories, pamphlets, flyers for meetings, as well as the journal articles he wrote and edited. Meyer was the founder of the Los Angeles County Conciliation Court, a founder and editor of the journal Conciliation Courts Review, and helped found the Association of Family Conciliation Courts.
