and objects related to retail stores, manufacturing companies, banking and financial institutions, fishing and petroleum industries,
restaurant and hospitality industries, recreation, leisure, and more.

Scope and Content of Collection
The Wilmington Area Business and Industry Collection documents the history of commercial and industrial companies doing business
in the city of Wilmington, California between 1884 and 2019. The collection consists of a wide variety of paper records, including
brochures and pamphlets, flyers, advertisements, historical sketches, newspaper clippings, correspondence, administrative
records, postcards, newsletters, and reports. Photographs include exterior and interior images of businesses, aerial views,
and people associated with individual companies. The collection also contains promotional objects, such as matchbooks, pens,
ashtrays, clothes hangers, keychains, playing cards, glasses and mugs, and other types of giveaway items. The collection is
arranged alphabetically by the name of the company.
