Biography / Administrative History

Iolene Lazelle Lund Putnam (1908-2005) was born in Mancelona, Michigan in 1908 and moved with her family to San Bernardino in 1914. Iolene attended and graduated from Pomona College in 1929, majoring in English. In 1931, she married her husband and fellow Pomona College alumnus, Murray Putnam ('28), at the Bridges Hall of Music ("Little Bridges") on the Pomona College campus. Following her education and marriage, Iolene spent many years teaching elementary school and raising a family in the San Joaquin Valley. Throughout her life, Iolene was active in the Pomona College Alumni Association and the American Association of University Women.

The collection contains correspondence regarding Lund's involvement in the Pomona College Alumni Association, photographs of the Pomona College campus, and printed materials from both on and off-campus events.
