Scope and Contents

Board Agendas and Minutes consists of meeting notes, financial reports and secretary reports from regular Board of Director's meetings covering all areas of District administration including trail maintenance, landscaping, painting, riding ring, etc. Occasional attachments and correspondence included in meeting minutes.

Scope and Contents

Single document from 1963 includes a report from a committee appointed to develop a plan for landscaping District lots two and three. Includes drawing of proposed widening of Westfield entrance dated February 28, 1989. Minutes from 1992-1993 include plan to restrict unauthorized vehicle traffic on three horse trails within the District.

Series includes correspondence to and from the Board regarding topics and directives for District operations including: District boundaries, recreation areas, equestrian riding ring, landscaping, Board election material and filings, election costs, easements for roads and bridle trails, condemnation proceedings, tennis courts, possible annexation to the City of Los Angeles, annual reports of financial transactions sent to the State Controller, complaints, grant proposal, flood control, and drainage issues. Occasionally includes copies of deeds and tract maps.

Includes a brief history of the purpose and creation of the District (Folder 1). Additional correspondence of note includes copy of grant deed for Lot #19, March 1, 1973 (Folder 5); tennis court map, circa March/April 1973 (Folder 5); Lot #24 easement and grant deed to Lot #24, January 5, 1977 (Folder 6); Lot #56, November 8, 1977 (Folder 6); letter with reference to deeds for public purposes, August 31,1978 (Folder 7); legal status of Crenshaw stairs easement, September 13, 1978 (Folder 7); Frutchey donated easement, September 12, 1978 (Folder 7); Lot #69, October 25, 1978 has additional correspondence with map in Map Folder drawer (Folder 7); and correspondence with Palos Verdes Properties on October 5, 1984 regarding "RELEASE OF CERTAIN EQUITABLE RIGHTS UNDER RECORDED DECLARATIONS" (Folder 8). Correspondence of note includes copy letter dated March 19, 1998 from Supervisor Don Knabe regarding water drainage issue and subsequent April 5, 1998 petition by residents for County Flood Control Services (Folder 4). Undated letter outlining parkway trees maintenance (Folder 4). Correspondence from February 22, 1995 regarding riding ring is with drawings in Map Folder.
