Gift from Vincent M. Cresci.
SAFR-00001 is a blanket accession that was transferred from the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) to the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park in September 1988. GGNRA had previously acquired the collection from the San Francisco Maritime Museum when it became a unit of the National Park Service in 1977.
GOGA-00789 was transferred from the J. Porter Shaw Library to the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) in February 1985.

The Vincent M. Cresci photograph collection, 1939-1942, (SAFR 24824, P77-036) is comprised of a photograph of KAMAKURA MARU (built 1930; passenger vessel) in San Francisco, California. The collection has been processed to the Item level and is open for use.
Contains 1 black-and-white photographic print, hand colored, of KAMAKURA MARU (built 1930; passenger vessel) (ex Chichibu Maru, ex Titibu Maru) docked at an unidentified pier in San Francisco, California. CREOLE (built 1918; tugboat) is also partially in view.
The photograph was assigned an item number following the classified photograph collection classification scheme created by the San Francisco Maritime Museum: A02.35369.

A group of eight people are alongside KAMAKURA MARU, likely cleaning or painting the hull.
Stern of CREOLE (built 1918; tugboat) is in the foreground. Three men are on board. Their backs are to the camera as they are looking at KAMAKURA MARU.
