John Schmitz (1897-1983). Includes images from
Ben-Hur (1959),
Oklahoma! (1955),
PT 109 (1963),
Quo Vadis (1951), and
King Solomon's Mines (1950). Also included is a 1973 letter from William Schaefer of USC Special Collections requesting Schmitz's materials along
with an article about Irene Schmitz, John's wife.
John Schmitz (1897-1983) was an American cinematographer and camera operator who worked on motion pictures from 1929 through
1963.
