Abstract: The collection consists of a scrapbook compiled by John L. Davies, a steam shovel operator who worked on the construction
of the Panama Canal for six years. The scrapbooks contains photographs of the construction of the Panama Canal, along with
personal photographs of the Davies family in Panama. Also included in the scrapbook are clippings of news articles, mostly
documenting various speaking engagements held by Davies to discuss his experiences working on the Canal and living in Panama.
