Historical note

The Central Christian Church of Los Angeles was founded in 1886 as the First Christian Mission. It met sporadically for a time at 15th and Main Streets, and was reestablished in September of 1889 with 15 members, who met at the corner of 17th Street and Grand Avenue. When the Mission moved to 121 West 14th Street in 1891, it was renamed Central Christian Church of Los Angeles and had 41 members. After some additional moves, the Church moved to its final home at 410 East 31st Street where it remained until it closed in 1946, when the property was sold to the Church of the Living God.
