John M. Dawson was born September 30, 1930 in Champaign, Illinois; BS (1952), MS (1954), PhD (1957) University of Maryland,
physics; research physicist and professor Princeton University Plasma Physics Laboratory (1956-1973); director, UCLA Center
for Plasma Physics and Fusion Engineering (1967-1987); professor of physics UCLA Department of Physics (1973-2001); died in
Los Angeles November 17, 2001.
The collection consists of correspondence, John M. Dawson's dissertation and calculations, conference proceedings and reports.
