Biographical / Historical
Alex Ross became the Head Librarian of the Art and Architecture Library at Stanford
University in 1975. He received his Masters in Library Science and M.A. in Art History from
Columbia University.
In 1995, he received the Marsh O'Neill Award and has published several articles on art
research methods and the history of art reference materials.
Scope and Contents
This collection contains various drafts of manuscripts by Irene B. Sheldon, as well as her
correspondence with museums and curators.
