Title:
Sunbeam Bridge at Jade Mountain Temple, Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi
Caption:
Hoan Kiem is the "Lake of the Returned Sword." According to legend, the 15th century warrior, Le Loi, defeated the invading
Chinese armies with a magical sword. Later, the magical sword was snatched from the future emperor's hands by a giant turtle.
Today, in the lakeside Jade Mountain Temple, one can see the remains of a giant, recently deceased turtle. Some believe that
the turtle was 500 years old.
