Title:
Water buffalo, Red River Delta, near Hanoi
Caption:
Water buffalo are essential to the economy of farming families. Harnessing a water buffalo to a hand plow is still the main
means of cultivating a rice field. Farm boys bathe and tend the animals in rivers and watering holes. At festivals, water
buffalo are harnessed to compete in pulling contests.
