Description:
Family of four in a room with an old-style woodburning stove. A boy in red writes on a sheet of paper while a girl in green
reads a book as they sit facing the viewer at table in the foreground right. At left, a woman sits on a stool facing the stove
with her back to the viewer. She is dressed in a green jacket and brown skirt. On the other side of the stove, behind the
children, a man with a mustache reads the newspsper. A steaming kettle sits on the black stove. Behind the man, on the right,
is a small American flag, an alarm clock, a photograph and a vase with red flowers sitting on a mantel. In the background
left, a broom leans against the wall, bristles upward. Stretched and framed.
