Description:
Stretched and framed. In the foreground and left side, four soldiers with rifles and MP armbands look over a barbed wire fence
at the large number of men, women and children who are walking, talking and playing in the main body of the painting. The
MP to the left holds his left palm outward to the people in a motion to stop. In the background left, an engineer sits in
the cab of a locomotive, followed by a coal tender and a passenger car with the words, "Santa Fe," where an old woman stands
in the doorway at far right.
