A celebrity of 1849. The first Fire Engine ever used in San Francisco. It was built in 1820 and was the property at one time
of Martin Van Buren, President of the United States, from whom it was secured by William Free, who brought it to San Francisco
in 1849. It is now one of the historic relics in the home of the Exempt Firemen at 9 Brenham place.
