Union Pacific Railroad Company
Description:
A train is halted at the Turlock station of the Southern Pacific Railroad, circa 1912. People appear to be waiting and/or
preparing to board the train on the right. One woman dressed in white is with a group of people headed toward the rear of
the train, where the railroad cars have multiple windows, which indicate they are the passenger cars. To the right of the
station platform is a freight car that is marked U.P. 67180, indicating it belongs to the Union Pacific Railroad. Note the
large container on the platform that possibly was unloaded from the freight car. The Turlock identification sign on the station
wall also informs passengers of the elevation (106 feet) and the distances to San Francisco and New Orleans from Turlock.
