as to Mrs Carr Thanking me heartily for a lot of Photos Martinez, Nov. 13, 1901. - commending my forestry work strongly
on margin of this letter My dear Lukens. I heartily thank you for the generous lot of fine photographs, they are beautiful
also interesting as tree forest studies. I have not yet heard a word about Mrs Carr since she went to live with Dr Carr's
brother near Santa Paula Please let me know how she is. The letters papers I want are those I wrote her during a long correspondence
begun about 1865 after leaving the State University of Wisconsin. She repeatedly promised to collect send them to me, but
I suppose on account of failing memory this has not been done. Many thanks for your offer to secure them. My new book is
just out, Ill send copies to you Mrs Jones as soon as they arrive. I'm at work on another but hope to see you before it is
finished With love to all your family I am cordially Yours John Muir in margin: Your forest work is admirable must soon
gain wider better recognition.
