had promised a nice article but it failed to come out I am going to take pains to find out the reason of this. Perhaps our
efforts to take control of the Gov't reservations is not agreeable to some of out newspaper friends they prefer to leave out
a club whose members advocate Federal control for National parks the aid assistance if necessary of U. S. soldiers. I wrote
a short article to the Century about 200 words, my views being to take the control of national reservations entirely from
the State Commissions put them under proper Federal control with power to call in the Military when necessary Suggested the
Forestry board of Agricultural Dept in illegible of appropriation needed to carry on their work so well begun, etc. etc.
I have a little spare time now will carefully overlook the table of altitudes of Pacific slope try get the Ms. in printers
hands next week. Best regards for your family Very truly Mark B. Kerr
