Handwritten, undated document marked "Ordinance No. 2 from No. 1 to
8, marked on the Journal as No.2". Ordinance describes several criminal
activities, including galloping "his or their horses through the Streets of
this Town"; discharging a gun (except in self defense); failing to report to
the constable disturbances in public houses; drawing a knife, pistol, or other deadly
weapon (except in self defense); fighting, brawling, or otherwise disturbing the peace;
being found "drunk in the streets or grog shops"; selling
"spirituous liquors without a license"; or creating "an
unnecessary noise in the Streets after 9 o'clock P.M." Penalties of varying
severity are listed for each type of offense. Comprised of two pages.
