Martinez, Cal., Sept. 20, 1907. Dear Mr. Colby: I inclose a copy of our report. I forgot to ask you theother day about
what the resolutions should be but I think I have gotthe main point. It was sent to Secretary Garfield last Saturday.I think
we had better have quite a number of this report with theother papers printed and scattered where they will do most good.
Drop me a line occasionally and let me hear how things aregoing. In particular I think it important to have the Mazamas act
with us. Send them a copy of our report as soon as possible as it is getting a little late. I think I told you that Phelan's
brief was filed in the Secretary's Office, Washington, September 14th. Faithfully yours, John Muir. Would it not be
well to have a few typewritten copies made if theprinted ones should be delayed. If so, send me a few. We muststrike quick
and hard now. J.M. 03929
