O Martinez, Dec. 21, 07 Dear Mr. Colby: Helen and I start this morning for Mohave desert near Daggett. She will probably
be there or in some similar desert for a couple of years. I hope, after getting her and companion settled, to be home occasionally,
so my address until further notice will be Martinez. All mail will be forwarded from there should my absence be prolonged.
We must not rest in our H.H. battle until after the Secretary's decision, if then, tho' all my news is favorable so far. I'll
write again ere long. Good luck, and Good bye. Faithfully, John Muir. That was a bully punching you gave Manson-some
of your H.H. letters should, I think, go into our Bulletin. 03998
