Description:
On January 24, 1910 Frenchman Louis Palhaun made the first known airplane flight in San Mateo County, taking off from Tanforan.
His Farman biplane reached an altitude of 700 feet and stayed aloft for eight minutes. Thousands of people came to witness
the event. Gift of California Historical Society.
