2 grandchild. She also mentioned a visit she made at Lincoln and Crete last Sept. that she enjoyed and found all of our
people there well. In a letter from Joanna received last week she tells of great improvement in her health, her summer outing
gave her just the start she needed and she still keeps gaining steadily, can take nice little walks and call on her friends.
After living so long confined to the house, it is a great pleasure for her to be out again. When Mary was at Dan.'s he said
that he was very anxious to see us all again, and wondered 3 if when Joanna was well enough to come as far as Lincoln
they could get together and come to California and have a reunion. How all would enjoy it. Mary said it hardly seemed that
it could ever be, but that we might take comfort in the hope that some time not too far in the future we might get together
once more. It made me sad to hear a few days ago of Maggie's serious illness again,, in both John's and Marys letters they
thought her gaining a little, and had been able to sit up a little while. I hope that with these brighter days she will be
feeling better.
