EDITORIAL OFFICE OF The Atlantic Monthly, BOSTON. September 29, 1897. Dear illegible : Having heard that Professor
Sargent is home again (though I have not had the pleasure to see him), I assume that you, too, have come back from the wilderness,
and perhaps are good enough to be at work on articles for the Atlantic. I am now trying to put together the best material
that I have in hand or that is in sight for the December Atlantic. Manuscripts for this number ought not to be received much
later than the middle of October. I wonder if we may not then have the pleasure of publishing a paper by you about some of
the national parks? And about the book? Very sincerely yours, illegible John Muir, Esq. 02342
