Autobiographies and Reminiscences of California Pioneers, p. 129-131, Vol. 6. This is a typed transcript, bound into a volume,
of the member's autobiographical reminiscence created as an institutional record for the Society of California Pioneers.
This reminiscence includes a reference to a photograph of the member in a set of bound volumes. It appears that the photographs
in this set were dispersed throughout the regular photography collection, but the photographs referenced in the related materials
may or may not be these same photographs. This reminiscence was copied from the "Marin County Herald" of March 18th, 1896.
It contains information regarding Captain Storry's life and occupation in Sausalito and San Francisco.

Autobiography & Reminiscence of Captain Leonard Storry, San Francisco, 1901. The Society of California Pioneers
Captain Leonard Storry was born in England and left as an apprentice on a ship. In 1849 he moved to California after time
spent traveling in Australia and Chile. He and his family arrived in San Francisco in February 1849. They then settled in
Sausalito and built the first house there. Capt. Storry operated a general merchandising store there and also started the
first daily ferry service between Sausalito and San Francisco. In 1858 the Captain went to the Frazier River, British Columbia
in search of gold. After some time, he returned to Sausalito and remained there until 1869 when he moved back to San Francisco
