1 letterhead May 29th 1899 Dear Louie We arrived here yesterday fournoon expected to join the train this afternoon
But a telegram from the train tells us that we will not leave for Seattle until tomorrow evening, the train arrives here early
tomorrow morning In the meantime we are getting a fine rest at Portland Hotel. Charlie Keeler is capital company a good fellow
everyway Im going to try now that the rain ceased to find someone that can tell me about the Rainier Park I guess our party
will be large Here are some clippings which tell little yet may interest you. I dont? want to give you eternal 02585 2
letterhead trouble about fire, still I keep myself somewhat illegible about my MS.S. Everything points to a good instructive
time. It seems that Mr Harriman's sole aim is to take scientists when they most wish to go nowadays are the most inaccessible
places. Heaven bless you all I'll probably be able to give you some points on our route to which letters may be addressed
Ever Thine John Muir 02585
