In this two-page letter, Bird describes the duties and responsibilities undertaken by Western Association of Colleges as
well as Association of American Colleges concerning the relocation of Japanese American students. E. R. Hedrick and Guy Snavely
are mentioned for their efforts and concerns regarding this matter. Bird also describes the efforts by Occidental on behalf
of its six Japanese American students, writing, "We have assisted in the relocation of all of them and are happily in touch
with each student, seeking to do everything we can for all of these young people, for whom we have great admiration in this
time of concern."
