The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway System. Railway Exchange, 9 Jackson Boulevard, Chicago. W. J. BLACK, Passenger
Traffic Manager. OFFICE OF PASSENGER TRAFFIC MANAGER. W. H. SIMPSON, Advertising Agent. Chicago, May 9, 1906. BLUE
FOREST Mr. John Muir, Adamana, Arizona. Dear Sir: We are advised that you have recently discovered a new deposit of
petrified wood, called the Blue Forest, located about seven miles north of Adamana and said to be as interesting as the sections
now visited south of our track. Any information you can give us about the so-called Blue Forest; also data relative to your
work in the first, second and third forests, will be very much appreciated. If you are willing to have any of the material
used by the Santa Fe Advertising Department, will be glad to reciprocate. We expect to soon start a strong campaign of publicity
for this unique Arizona wonder and are in need of up-to-date facts. I wrote to Mr. Stevenson the other day, asking him to
see you in our behalf. At that time, however, was not informed as to the new discoveries--hence this second letter. Yours
truly, illegible Cy-JJB-AS illegible 03725
