Ms. map. Scale [1:31,680]. 40 chains to an in. Relief shown by hachures. Shows survey markers, landmarks, adjoining ranchos, etc. Pen-and-ink and watercolor on vellum. Includes table of boundaries and Surveyor General's certification (March 30, 1860). This Plat, produced as a result of Land Case 100 ND, US District Court, California, shows the northern portion of Rancho San Antonio, awarded to Vicente and Domingo Peralta by their father, Luis Maria Peralta. Accompanied by decree describing the development of the land case and ordering the production of the plat, with field notes and certification by the surveying crew (22 pages). Alternate title from decree. The text includes a detailed description of the marshlands of Oakland and its environs. Specific landmarks located on the map, listed from north to south, include: the home of Victor Castro, Cerrito Creek Cañon and along its southern bank, a "large rock rising in the form of a monument looking to the north," "Frenchman's house" (situated just beyond the northern boundary), "Fleming's house" with a buckeye tree indicated nearby near the shoreline at "South Cerro," "Wilson's hotel," a Coast Survey Sta. (situated in the highlands), adobe of Domingo Peralta, the wharf and warehouse of a starch factory, adobe of Vicente Peralta, a road, designated "Oakland to Martinez, Alta Telegraph" (at eastern boundary), "McHenry's old dock," Indian mound, road from Oakland to San Antonio, shown where it crossed Moraga Valley, slough to Watt's Landing, "small house referred to in decree," "post at head of tidewater," Gibbon's wharf, Grafenger's house, bridge (that crossed San Antonio Creek between Oakland and Clinton), with notices of posts, fences, sloughs, creeks and a road from San Pablo to Oakland.
