ARNOLD ARBORETUM, HARVARD UNIVERSITY. Jamaica Plain, Mass., March 30, 1903. Dear Muir: I have yours of the 23rd and
merely write a line to tell you that I have got it and to confirm what I said in a letter a few days ago, that if you leave
California with the President you will be here in plenty of time if you do not linger too long on the road. By all means you
should make the trip with the President and I should postpone my journey if it was necessary for you to do it. Do net forget
about getting the letters from him. Faithfully yours, illegible John Muir, Esq. Martinez, Cal. 03201
