May 1, 1903 Dear Professor Sargent, I'll be ready for Boston Russia as soon as the President's Yosemite trip is made,
my passport arrives. On receipt of your letter calling attention to its importance I went to San Francisco had my application
made forwarded to the State Department In ten or twelve days it was returned as defective for the reason that it was not accompanied
by my father's certificate of naturalization I immediately sent in another application which the lawyers say is all right,
the fussy barbarous document should be here in a day or two. Ill not forget the letters to ambassadors. 03228
