engaged in his excursions and studies of Natures wonderful works in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Business and Tourist travel
to Yosemite this season has been much lighter than for the past twenty years. There are but very few Indian Baskets now made
and for sale by the Indians in the vicinity of Yosemite. The young Indian women do not learn to make them. It is so much work
to make them fine and nice, that they find it easier to make money by washing and sewing or almost any other work, and the
old ones who used to make Baskets are nearly all dead. In a very few years no Baskets can be bought at any price here. I
shall be much pleased to hear from you at all times. When you may have a few spare moments to write, and if I can be of any
service to you please let me know. Yours sincerely Galen Clark
