J letterhead Very private Sept. 22. 1909 Dear Muir: As I have already foreshadowed you have been elected a member
of the Academy by a very complimentary? vote, but dont speak of it till you get an official note from us which may be some
weeks. I am very happy over it. You must certainly come to Washington to the launching? of the Academy. President Taft has
offered us a reception in the White House and it will be a brilliant affair and merely by showing yourself you can do much
to help save the Yosemite. The meeting will be Monday and Tuesday December 13 14. R. U. Johnson 04592
