ARNOLD ARBORETUM, HARVARD UNIVERSITY. Jamaica plain, Mass., February 11, 1897. My dear- Muir; Thanks for your letter
which I find this morning on my return from Washington and for the information it contains. I find here also the enclosed
which I am turning over to you for your consideration as you are the person who does not see differences and who leads me
out of the straight and narrow paths which separate Murrayana and contorta and ponderosa and Jeffreyi. When you have sufficiently
pondered Lenmon's letter 1 should be glad to have you return it to me. Faithfully yours, C. S. Snyemt John Muir, Esq.
