June 25, 1901. Dear Mr. Muir, Your paper on the big woods of the Sequoia and General Grant parks has pleased us very much.We
have greatly enjoyed the atmosphere of space and strength which you have infused into it.We shall be glad, however, with yourconsent,
to omit about a dozen pages of manuscript, for we find in its present form it is unusually long for an Atlantic paper,-and
we should prefer a change of title. It has seemed to us that possibly Hunting Big Redwoods might serve, but if this does not
entirely suit you, it will, I hope, suggest to you a better title.I hope to be able within a day or two to write you about
the illustration of the book, to which we are now giving attention. Your8 sincerely, n.b.parker, Mr. John Muir. 02867
