Subject : UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY. EXECUTIVE OFFICES, 120 BROADWAY. NEW YORK, May 12, 1899. John Muir, Esq.,
Martinez, Cal. Dear Sir: At the meeting of the Invitation Committee held on the 8th inst. it was arranged that the party
for Alaska will start from the Grand Central Depot, Forty-second Street, New York, by special train, on Tuesday afternoon,
May 23rd, 1899. Please telegraph me at the above address where you can be reached by wire, so that you may be advised later
of the hour at which the boat will leave. I expect the boat will leave Seattle on May 30th or 31st. Yours very truly,
