2 you, in any manner you may suggest. We can put you up on some degree of comfort, and possibly we can find bread and tea
that will suit you, and if you will slip in here on the quiet you can be as free from dress dinners, lectures, speeches, curious
callers c, as we can be ourselves: and, of course, always free to come and go, at will. If you shall care to come here and
make use of our very humble home and the little it contains we shall be more than paid for anything that we may do or give;
so you see this is not a proposition involving money values in any degree or manner. You will find a very unconventional household
here, but there will always be room enough for you. We haven't heard a word about your daughters since we last saw you. We
have much enjoyed the sketch in the August Century, but that gave us no news of you for we knew all the things therein related.
But we hope to hear from you, and, best of all, to hear that you are coming some day and bringing your work. Mrs. Calkins
joins me in kindest regards to you and endorses all I have said above, and I am Sincerely yours, J. E. Calkins 04893
