Daggett, Cal. June 21, 1911. Dear Papa:- I received a nice letter from you a few days ago and was glad to hear from you.
We are all well, save that I have a cold which I caught one night this week when the wind blew in on our sleeping porch after
a very hot day. But it is only in my head and is not bad so dont worry, please. Little Hair keeps well and dost notice my
cold at all. He is getting very heavy, and is wide awake and lively all the time. He notices new things to wonder at every
day. My eyes have been bothering me lately and now have gotten so I cant read but a few minutes a day without pain, so Buel
is going to take me in to Los Angeles tomorrow to have my eyes examined, I will ask Dr. Allen who to go to. We will be gone
only a few days, and in a week or ten days will go up into the San Bernardino mountains. Some friends of ours here in Daggett
are going on ahead of us and will get things fixed up for us and make a nice camp. We are going to rent a small cottage on
the shore of Bear Lake. While in Los Angeles I am going to look up your new book, if it is out here yet, I will write again
in a few days. Lovingly as always, illegible 05048
