ARNOLD ARBORETUM, HARVARD UNIVERSITY. Jamaica Plain, Mass., June 20, 1902. My dear Canby: I haven't the slightest idea
what Mellichamp is talking about beyond the fact that it must be some article in Garden and Forest. If he can let us know
what the subject is perhaps I can help him. I am glad he is having a good time with Muir. You complain that I have dried
up . Don't worry. In a short time now you will hear from me probably much more frequently than you will care to. I have been
very busy with various matters lately, including descriptions of some Florida Crataeguses, etc., but in a few days I shall
get to work in earnest on the northern species. We have had fine rains at last and the country looks splendidly but there
is no hay crop in this part of the world. Faithfully yours, illegible W. M. Canby, Esq. Wilmington, Del.06200
