Los Angeles, Cal., August 4, 1910. 325 West Adams Street. Dear Mr. Colby:- Hope you had a fine time. I have been hard
at work down here on another book and have made pretty fair progress. Here is a communication from the President of the National
Conservation Congress requesting me to name five delegates. What do you think we had better do? Shall we send on delegates?
If so, I wish you would propose names. I enclose a letter from President Ripley of the Santa Fe on the subject of a trolley
along the rim of the Grand Canyon. I think with him that we should use our influence against the granting of permission by
the government for such a scheme, as it might be the beginning of a series of schemes that we would have to fight in other
national parks. I hope to see you within a week or two. Ever faithfully yours, ILLEGIBLE To William E. Colby, 302 Mills
Building, San Francesco, Cal.
