this afternoon just as Mrs. Ballard I were taking the cars for this place--Mrs. B is already deep in the Sequoia, when this
is posted I shall have the Alaska sheet, must thank you for them all. I really feared you might forget your promise. We came
here for the mines--in the morning shall drive but to the Stamp Mills to Nevada City in the afternoon. Next day expect to
see something of hydraulic mining at Bloomfield, on Friday return to Colfax our boarding place at Lander Station. Mr. Howells
has a nice fruit ranch on one of the red, rolling hills of this part of 02024
