D Martinez, California. Dear sir, The Executive Committee have requestted the undersigned to respectfully ask if you
would kindly honour the Profession of our State by the delivery of an address, or, lecture when our Society is holding its
Annual Meeting,in this City, on the 10 and 11th proximo. Permit me to mention that this year's meeting promises to be a very
important one as it will in a measure realize the comprehensive unification programme organized by our parent society, The
American Medical Association; so that the profession shall become more capable and honourable within itself and more useful
to the publics. The result so far attained are on broad lines and promises much among many other very desirable things, the
enactment and enforcement of just medical laws and the extension of the principles of science by worthy exponents. The Committee
