Martinez, Feb. 18, 1908 Dear Mr Calkins, I'm glad Mrs Calkins is making good speed to perfect health. I saw Helen for
a day on my way to the old home after leaving Pasadena. She is cheerful hopeful seems to be gathering strength. I mean to
see her again as soon as I get rid of a miserable influenza cold that has been stupefying my lately. Ever since I got home
I have been trying to arrange business affairs between Helen Wanda so as to relieve me of the care of Helen's vineyards orchard
s? I hope to succeed in my plan. Then we may be able to do something in literature. In the meantime, I'll keep you informed
