Martinez Dec. 7, 1908. Dear Mr Colby: I've written to Johnson H. if he goes seriously into the fight we must keep up the
fight anyhow as if all depended on us, I think even without other outside aid than public opinion we will be able to stop
the destroyers. Send the best of our published stuff to all the Congress. Has Mr illegible got back from the east? I dare
not go to Washington at present grippe-like sore throat, even if I had nothing to hold me here. Work hard but don't worry.
If this trouble gets on your nerves read up on radium radium's grandfather Uranium, scientific calm must come, take comfort
my dear boy in believeing as I do that one of these days you will go ahead? in margin: of your teacher Le-y who has gone to
the unrighteous enemy Faithfully John Muir
