Martinez, California March 27, 1898 My dear Cousin, I thought I had written to you at New Year. I am sorry to hear of
Mr Buchan's illness The breaking down of a brain is always a sad sight mostly hopeless. The only comfort is in the love of
friends back looks on a life well spent. Mrs Kellys case is sad too though she bears her trouble so well. Remember me to her,
I always look back with pleasure to the evenings spent at her house. I'm sending with this a copy of a magazine which has
one of my articles on the Yellowstone Park. Also one to yourself. Did I send you two other Atlantic monthlies with forest
articles? If not I'll send them. I'm glad to hear you Maggie are well after the long dark winter. I wish I could spend a
winter with you to see the grand storms a spring to hear the skylarks see the hawthorn ridges the heather? once more. 02413
