illegble Our dear Mr. Muir: On our return from Puckawa Lake a few days ago we were delighted to find your letter of the
28th ult. awaiting us. It was only a few days before that Fay said I wonder where Mr. Muir is. I wish we could hear from him.
She thought it quite wonderful to find, on her return, her wish gratified. Fay and I were greatly surprised and shocked to
learn of the death of dear Mrs. Strentzel. We had, from your talk, learned to hold her in high esteem and when we saw her
for only a few hours at her home we soon found that the good and noble character your talk had led us to picture her as being,
was more than fully realized. Wife and I have often talked about her and your family and feel that we can to some extent,
at least, realize what a great loss her death will be to you all. I have been laid up at home for a few days with a bilious
attack and have not yet seen the Atlantic for November: will have a copy brought up tonight. We were delighted with Stickeen
