Ansd 3/8/11 J Martinez March 3, 1911 My dear Mr Johnson: I'm very sorry you are in the grip of the miserable Grip. I
too have suffered an attack of it this winter have hardly yet recovered. Mr. Scott promised to restore the gilt on the Mtns
of Cal, add 8 new illustrations raise the royalty to 15 per cent. So far good but I'm far from being en rapport with him in
regard to the Yosemite book. As to the Century Company doing as well by me as any other publisher in America my 17 years experience
with it tells a very different story. But be assured I'm not going to let you break your heart about the book will try hard
to make some arrangement that will be satisfactory. With all good wishes dear Johnson I am ever faithfully your friend John
