Daggett, Cal. May 12 Dear Papa The box you sent reached here in good condition and made me very happy. The sweet brier
scents up my whole shanty and is so lovely. Most of the roses fell to pieces when I lifted them out - our desert air is too
much for them I guess, but I got all their sweetness just the same and am saving the petals. I planted the little ice plants
and hope they will grow. The ginger wafers were fine. Mary got into them first thing I received your letter day before yesterday
and am glad to know Wanda is getting along so well since she got home. Im sorry she dont want the house, since it seems I
cant enjoy it myself, but Im not going to think about it or worry - Im too happy since I learned to let worry alone. It does
me good to hear that my old garden is looking so lovely. We are having a big blow here 04134
